Copywork is a great way for kids to work on language arts in one go – handwriting practice, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and familiarity with language and how it’s used.
One thing I want my kids to learn is the scriptures and the gospel of Jesus Christ. So for years I have just printed off different scriptures for them to trace and copy- depending on age and ability. When they are first learning to write, they just have to trace, and when they are better at it, then they just have to copy, and for a time- they have to do both. I would often print off the same scripture for days at a time- especially since we would work on memorizing them also.
But this year, I decided it just may be a lot more effective and efficient to put them all into a book, and have the kids take more responsibility in learning those scriptures. So I made little booklets, printed them off and stapled them together for the kids. Plus I was more involved with my boys studying seminary this past year, and one of the things they study are a set of 25 scriptures for each of the 4 standard works for our church- so that’s what I did – the 25 scriptures for the Doctrine and Covenants which they were studying.
That worked pretty well, but they have finished them, and I needed to make some more. So I did and I will have them printed into real workbooks through amazon. You can buy them – should be ready in a week or so or download them for free and print as needed!
The pdf’s are there for you below and when they get up on amazon, I will put the links in below also!
Hope this helps! Enjoy!
